The history of PT Plaza Indonesia Realty Tbk begins with the establishment of “PT Bimantara Eka Santosa” in 1983 by PT Bimantara Siti Wisesa, Eka Tjipta Widjaja and Ferry Teguh Santosa. Standing with a strong vision, the Company targets the market by building a restigious property in a premium location.
On May 2, 1992, the Company officially registered in the Jakarta Stock Exchange and Surabaya Stock Exchange and since then the Company complies with regulations applicable to public companies. In 1994, to strengthen the Company’s capital structure, the Company issued pre-emptive rights (Rights Issue) in the ratio of 2:1, therefore, the shares held by the Company’s founders became 47.09% with the rest owned by the public.
As stipulated in Article No. 3 of the Articles of the Association, the scope of the Company’s activities is mainly to engage in hotel business, shopping center rental, office rental and apartments. Following the divestment of eX in 2010, the Company now owns Grand Hyatt Jakarta Hotel (the hotel),Plaza Indonesia Shopping Center, The Plaza Office Tower (office space) and Keraton (apartments). The Company through PT Sarana Mitra Investama, a subsidiary, owns PT Plaza Lifestyle Prima, a company that manages fX Lifestyle X’ntre.
